Inspire Love Create Art Journal Page

Hello and happy Monday!!! Farrel here with a mixed media art journal page I recently created whilst on a girls weekend away recently.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

For this page I used the watercolour paper in my Dina Wakley large art journal. I started off by applying a thin coat of TCW9001 White Gesso using my silicone brush.

Next I built up my background using a swiping motion of the Distress Ink pads in colours Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Cracked Pistachio and Peeled Paint. I also used the same colours on my tag but stamped the ink onto my non stick craft mat, sprayed some water and dabbed the tag onto the inks.

I used Distress Ink Peeled Paint and TCW361s Mini Tiny Circle stencil on my page and on the tag using my blending tool.

Next I used TCW780 Botanical Dream stencil and Shimmerz Texturez paste in Patina and Teal Me No Lies. I used a spatula to apply the paste.

Using TCW780 Botanical Dream stencil again and a blending tool, I applied Distress Inks Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean to add more pattern to the background. I also added some stamping using black archival ink.

For the tag, I felt it needed another colour so I added Spice Marmalade Distress ink around the edges a little on the middle of the tag. Then stamped the heart using black archival ink.

The tag needed something to sit on so I cut the burlap from the art journal and distressed the edges. I then used a paint brush to apply some TCW9001 White Gesso.

To finish off the tag, I stamped the words below and using my water pen and Distress Ink Salty Ocean, painted onto the letters. Then adhered them to the tag.

I stapled the tag onto the burlap using my tiny attacher and then used a liquid adhesive to adhere to the art journal page.

To finish off the page I added some doodling around the edges of the page with my paint pens.

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial and will be back soon xx
