Dream Catcher Art Journal Page by Farrel Tailor

Hello Everyone! I am back again today to share with you an art journal page I recently created.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

For my background I randomly added Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magical Shakers in Time Travel Teal, Polka Purple and Autumn Maple Crimson. Then sprayed with water and put aside to dry.

Using a make up sponge, I applied TCW9002 Black Gesso over the top of TCW775 Scalloped Mandala 6×6 stencil.

I liked the pattern the make up sponge made so I continued the dabbing all over the page.

I thought my page needed something else to break up the black so I used TCW261 Art Is 6×6 stencil and TCW9013 Iridescent Gold Heavy Body Acrylic Paint. I used another make up sponge to dab through the stencil. Because I had already used the Scallop Mandala stencil, I laid it on top of the script stencil so I knew where not to apply the gold paint.

Next I painted the chipboard feathers and chains with TCW9002 Black Gesso. Because chipboard is quite thick, I split the chipboard in half first.

Now to add colour to the feathers and chains. I started off by added art alchemy waxes and then added some TCW9036 Champagne Gold Modeling Paste by using my finger in a dabbing motion.

Next I added some Fluro Pink acrylic paint and finished them off with TCW9001 White Gesso.

For the chains I also used art alchemy waxes in White Gold and Rich Copper but it needed to be a little lighter so I added Brushed Iron as the end. I used a liquid glue to adhere the chains and feathers.

To finish off the page, I added a quote from Tim Holtz quotes sticker book and inked around the edges using Salty Ocean Distress Oxides. Then used some paint pens to draw around the edges of the page.

Here is a close up of the finished page

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial xx
