Hello Everyone! Farrel here today and I will be showing you my process in creating a layered background in an art journal using TCW Heavy Body Acrylic Paints and some pretty amazing stencils.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

For this project I used the new Dina Wakely Large Art Journal and I started by mixing TCW9017 Lemon Custrard and TCW9021 Blueberry Pie Heavy Body Acrylic Paints together to get a green tone. I used a paint brush to apply the paint and with the left over paint I used my fingers to rub onto the page.

Next I mixed TCW9017 Lemon Custrard and TCW9016 Spun Sugar Heavy Body Acrylic Paint and sponged it through TCW237 Tile Texture stencil.

After drying the paint with my heat tool, I then used TCW763 Alphabetica with a mixture of TCW9023 Blue Jellybean and TCW9016 Spun Sugar Heavy Body Acrylic Paint.

Then using the left over paint, I used my fingers to rub into the paper.

Now for the next layer – I mixed some TCW9020 Raspberry Sorbet and TCW9016 Spun Sugar Heavy Body Acrylic Paint to create a light pink tone and used my finger to apply through TCW792 Micro Dots stencil. And again with the left over paint, I rubbed onto the page.

Next I used the TCW755 Modern Lace stencil and using the stencil in sections I applied TCW9018 Orange Slice.

Now for the last layer, I used the same stencil but applied TCW9017 Lemon Custrard Heavy Body Acrylic Paint.

Once I was happy with the background, I then drew my face and used some paints to create a skin tone. I did use TCW9015 Licorice, TCW9016 Spun Sugar and TCW9021 Blueberry Pie Heavy Body Acrylic Paints for her hair and eyes. I also used TCW9019 Candy Apple Red Heavy Body Acrylic Paint for her lips.

To finish off my page I used some stamps for the tile and a black paint pen for doodling around the edges.
