A Stencil to a Stamp

Hello everyone!

Isn’t it hard to believe that it is already heading into the last weekend of February!!  This month I wanted to created something I could do whilst watching the Olympics

So I set up my space in front of the tv. I started out with my journal, a  stencil, some rubber, carving tool, ink and blending tool and scissors. At first before i thought it through I had just traced my image with a pen but then it hit me to use the ink blending tool. I just pressed some ink though the bits of stencil I wanted to recreate and then took out my carving tool and carved away.

Please note that although i have received some of the products used to create this project from some great companies, the opinions I share are solely my own.

I decided to create on a page I had started out doing a demo on in class one day. It simply had some modelling paste on the edges with a bit of colour. I decided to layer on some oxides and water and see where it goes from there.

For focal points I added the new release stencil Exotic Lamps in black and some  grecian gold modeling paste.

Then it was time to do some stencilling and stamping.

I used the same stencil that i had carved for adding distress ink to my page prior to stamping with archival ink

So why you ask would I make a stamp from a stencil.. you get the same image right…. well it is because I am not a fan of using an archival ink through my stencils…. so this way I can layer using my ‘stencil’ in a whole other way!!

To finish my page it was just a matter of doodling and added some chitchat stickers for a finishing quote

Remember, we would love to see what you create with The Crafters Workshop Stencils and Mediums.
