Take the Scenic Look with TCW and Grafix

Today’s project I had a lot of fun creating. I used Grafix Clear Adhesive Back Computer Printable Transparent Plastic Sheets to start my project. Let me tell you these might be my new favorite to add photos and images to my art work.

I chose a picture of my daughter and printed it in black and white on the Grafix plastic sheets. They are transparent as you can see below.

I peeled it off the backing and added it to my substrate.

It is printed on plastic so you have to be careful what you put on top of it. By accident I sprayed some alcohol on it and when I went to take off some of the alcohol it took some of the photo away.

I added the Love Sonnet stencil (TCW737) to the background with acrylic paints and then added TCW Modeling Paste to add texture.  I decided to cover her face a little plus I used markers and added more to her eyes.

As I waiting for the modeling paste to dry I completely changed my mind on the direction of the project.  I chose the Curious Owl stencil (TCW609) to add fall leaves.

Instead of using modeling paste I used TCW Gel Medium Matte and heavy body acrylics for the leaves around her eyes. I decided to completely cover her face except her eyes. I cut maska from some paper to cover her eyes to I can add the leaves over them.

To highlight her eyes I added TCW Iridescent Gold Heavy Body on a few of the leaves. I also found the perfect sentiment.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with stencils and mediums to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own because I do love to use them.

Here is my finished project.

Although this wasn’t what I was going to create, I love that I changed my mind. Grafix transparent film is so much fun to play with and it works perfect with The Crafters Workshop stencils.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.

We would love to see what you create with The Crafters Workshop Stencils and Mediums. You can share it with us on our Facebook pageInstagram, Twitter, and Pinterest using hashtag #tcwstencillove.
