I Framed a Grafix Monoprint Plate

Hi Everyone!
The Crafters Workshop is partnering with Grafix which carries creative plastic films. I’m having lots of fun playing with their products and TCW stencils. Check out their site!

It’s Fall here but I still can’t stop creating projects with flowers. For today’s project I’m using stencils Love Sonnet (TCW737s) and Canna Lilies (TCW724s), TCW Light & Fluffy Modeling Paste, TCW Gel Medium Matte, and Grafix Monoprint Plate.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with stencils and mediums to create this project.

The opinions I share are solely my own because I do love to use them.

I was going to show you how to use the Grafix Monoprint Plate with stencils and make some cool backgrounds but it didn’t work out that way.  As I was playing a completely different idea come to me; create something that I could put in a frame.

Grafix Monoprint Plates come three to a package 6×9 and you have to peel off the blue film on the plates before you use them.  I cut it so I can use a 6″ x 6″ piece.

I started by adding the Love Sonnet stencil to the background. I added the stencil on the back instead of adding it to the front of the plate. I wanted to see more layers. I started adding the Canna Lilies stencil with paint but I didn’t like the way it looked. I couldn’t see it very well.

Then I added Light and Fluffy Modeling paste through the Canna Lilies stencil and then added color.

Light and Fluffy Modeling Paste you can add color to it whether it’s wet or dry. I like to let it dry overnight and then wet it again with a brush and add high flow acrylic paints to it. It’s like a sponge and absorbs the paint. You can also use any acrylic paint but you have to add water to it.

You can create some really cool color combinations with this paste. You have to try it.

I decided I wanted to frame this so I added tissue paper with Gel Medium to the back. I didn’t mind that it wrinkled because it just added more texture.

Here is the finished piece all framed.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
I will definitely be using Grafix Monoprint Plates again.

We would love to see what you create with The Crafters Workshop Stencils and Mediums. You can share it with us on our Facebook pageInstagram, Twitter, and Pinterest using hashtag #tcwstencillove.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
