BURLAP ORNAMENT COASTERS

BURLAP ORNAMENT COASTERS

Christmas is right around the corner, and you need a lil’ gift for a friend that won’t break your bank, but will impress your friend, right? I’ve gotcha covered art friends! These holiday coasters are just the thing. Keep reading.

Note: I am a Design Team member for The Crafter’s Workshop; however, even though I use and love their products, all opinions are solely my own.

SUPPLIES
TCW Stencils & Mixed Media Products: TCW720 Snowflakes,
TCW9005 White Modeling Paste
Therm-o-web: iCraft mixed media adhesive
laminated burlap sheets
ceramic tiles – 3 5/8” x 3 5/8”
spray sealer

To begin, lay your tile on a sheet of laminated burlap. I used my Fiskars cutter and mat to cut around the tile.

Next, tape your burlap down and then tape your stencil on top so they won’t move. Apply the modeling paste through the stencil. (Note: Make sure to clean the modeling paste off your stencil immediately after finishing so as not to ruin your stencil.) Lift carefully. Let your pieces dry, preferably overnight.

So the burlap wouldn’t fray, I used iCraft mixed media adhesive first around the edges. Then I spread the adhesive all over the top of the tile and pressed on the burlap square. Lastly, I sprayed a sealer on the top and voila! A quick, easy, impressive gift. You might even want to make a set for yourself!

Thanks for dropping by The Crafter’s Workshop blog. You can also scoot over to my blog at arteverydaystudio.blogspot.com. Like I always say, “Art in the Studio makes every day a good day.”

Until next time, keep making art, friends!
