Art Journalling – growing older

hello everyone!

today i am here to share with you an art journal page i created using a lot of different The Crafter’s Workshop stencils. This is another one of those pages where you doodle, stop, take a boo and then doodle some more.  to me a page isn’t finished  until i apply the quote.  so let’s see the process i went through to create this page

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own.

i wanted to use this mixed media tape on my page so chose a couple of stencils and paints and started

now this was a good place to start..coloured mixed media tape and a mop up page (though the one shown is not the one i used)

but the green one in the background of this picture is the one i used. the top one will be in a future post!

i then started working on building layers on my background. i layered many many times and stencils before i got to this point.

my main focal point/stencil used for this page was the Stencil Screen Print. it has so many different patterns on it and if you mix and match the large stencil and small stencil with paints you have endless layers on your page. i love that.

i just had to share this picture with you…. while i was creating and lost in the process my friend snapped this picture of me. this is truly me in my element….enjoying the process and just being….

at this point i had used various stencils and paints to layer and layer this page….. after i was done doodling a little bit i decided i needed one main focal point and chose the dragonfly from that stencil

i then inked the outside of it with my white gel pen and using my black stabilo pencil i outlined my media tape

now it was just time to add a quote…… typically when i see a dragonfly i see it as a message from another so i added what i felt an appropriate quote , a fine back ground stamp and that is what finished my page….

Remember, we would love to see what you create with The Crafters Workshop Stencils and Mediums.
