TCW Stencils + Altered Pages Digital Images = Perfect Combination

Hi Everyone! We are very excited this month to partner with Altered Pages using their digital images with stencils. Don’t forget to come back all month to see everyone’s creations.

First, I would like to thank Jean and her family for all the images and the opportunity to use them.  You must check out their site! I had such a hard time choosing!

I love flowers and I’m having a hard time letting summer go. It’s my favorite time of year. I thought I would use these images to create a long lasting flower scene I can look at all winter long.  The digital sheet I used is called Coloring Flowers AP 3016.

To create the rest of my project I used these stencils.

TCW742 Hard Textures

TCW665 Sweetpeas

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with stencils and mediums to create this project. The opinions I share are solely my own because I do love to use them.

I chose my substrate from pieces I started months ago but never used. The colors of this one reminded me of summer so I left it as it is and started.

I fussy cut the flowers to add them to the panel as an image transfer. Once they were cut out I auditioned the pieces to see where I wanted them.

To create an image transfer I added TCW Gel Medium Matte on the panel plus on the front of each flower and placed them on the board face down. Burnish it to the board and waited for it to dry.

It’s important to wait for it to dry completely. When it’s dry spray the paper with water and use your fingers to rub off the paper.  I don’t have patience so there were a few spots that weren’t dry and the image did not transfer completely. The flowers that did not transfer all the way I used a fine tip black marker and added in the lines.

Once all the paper was removed, I added the Hard Textures stencil with Light & Fluffy Modeling Paste underneath the flowers. It now looks like the flowers are growing behind a wall.

When it dried I added paint in black, white and purple to the paste.

I added the Sweetpeas stencil with a fine tip Sharpie to the surface to add more flowers then started adding color.

Now I have a beautiful reminder of summer during the cold winter months.

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial.

Don’t forget to to stop by Altered Pages! It’s family owned, they carry TCW Stencils and tons of other supplies!

We would love to see what you create with The Crafters Workshop Stencils and Mediums. You can share it with us on our Facebook pageInstagram, Twitter, and Pinterest using hashtag #tcwstencillove.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
