Quick and Easy Artsy Card with Crazy Waves Stencil

Hi, it’s Gracie Chavez from Graciellie Design and I have a quick and easy idea for you today! If you love the artsy look of mixed media stenciled cards but don’t have much time to sit and craft, this is the tutorial for you! I’ll be showing you how to make a notecard with a striking textured and painted detail that you will be able to make yourself in no time.

The Crafter’s Workshop sent me all of the beautiful products I used to create today’s project, but the opinions expressed on this post our entirely my own.

First, I applied a light coat of TCW9001 White Gesso to a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″ white cardstock panel. Then I used the new and stunning TCW743 Crazy Waves Stencil to apply TCW9004 Light & Fluffy Modeling Paste. This paste is heavenly so I know you will enjoy playing with it and the best part is it is very light so it won’t weight down your handmade card!

When the modeling paste is completely dry it’s time to add some color to the background… I watered down some TCW Heavy Body Acrylic Paint in Kale Smoothie, Blueberry Pie and Grape Jelly and mixed each color with some TCW9012 Shimmery Goodness to give the paints a metallic look. I alternated the colors according to the stenciled pattern and let it dry.

Once the background is ready I cut the painted waves and attached the panel to a matching Wild Lilac card base. I finished off the card with a stamped and heat embossed sentiment in Silver.

Hope you enjoy and find useful today’s post! This quick tutorial will sure help you give your notecards an elaborate and unique look every time! Until next time.
