Word for the year journal page

I have been choosing a guiding word for the year since 2014 and have found it to be a rewarding experience each time. This year my word is Flourish and as a way to focus a bit on what the word means to me, I created an art journal page. Below I’ve shared how I did it!

My One Little Word® for 2017 is Flourish. I created an art journal page using stencils from The Crafter's Workshop to reinforce what it means to me. AtopSerenityHill.com

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. This post also contains affiliate links. The opinions I share are solely my own.

AtopSerenityHill.comI started with a page that I had used to clean off a stencil (Flower Tangle) from another project. The page also had book paper glued down.

This yellow is wonderfully transparent so I was able to still see all of the designs already on the page.

I used the Positivity and the Dutch Spring 6×6 stencils along with Raspberry acrylic paint to add another layer.

AtopSerenityHill.comThe final details that I added to the page were glued down synonyms of my word and a few doodled marks around the letters, rose/leaves and synonym words. Now I have a great visual reminder of my word to focus on as the year progresses!

  1. Beautiful Consie! My word for the year is liberate meaning that I need to come out of hibernation and start living. I have the choice to do or not to do, I’m throwing off my restraints and liberating myself!
