Lets Hop into Spring!!

I have spring fever and I think so does everyone else! Extra family starts to pop in once the weather starts to turn sunny and with family comes extra kids, cousins, and neighborhood playmates. When kids start to show up its always great to have something fun and creative to keep their little hands busy. If you have this same thing happening to you or if you are just looking for a fun project for yourself this quick and easy tutorial will be the perfect thing to celebrate spring and get creating at the same time.

For this project you will need the following supplies:
TCW657 Stained Glass Daisies by Gabrielle Pollacco
TCW658 Jungle Vines by Gabrielle Pollacco
3 sheets of 140 lb. Mixed Media Paper
A few spring colored Acrylic Paints
Ruler
Scissors or X-Acto knife
Gelli Plate
Brayer
Glue
Washi Tape

To get started spend some quality time with your stencils, gelli plate and some fun spring colors! I used Pink, Blue and Yellow for my colors.

Next cut your gelli printed pages into .5 inch strips with an X-acto knife or scissors.

You can see my finished strips below!

Next use some colorful washi tape to connect your strips together. I used one of each color but you can mix it up in any way you want!

Once you have your strips taped together glue them into a ring. I used a binder clip to hold the ring together while it dried. While you are waiting on your rings to dry draw out a simple rabbit shape and carrot. Cut out your rabbit and add a the details with a fine tip marker and a little pink colored pencil for its nose.

When your napkin ring is dry, glue on your rabbit so it is “peaking” out from inside your napkin ring and glue your carrot to the outside. As a bonus I also used a large hole punch to make a place cards out of the left over gelli printed sheet. I also used a brush tip marker to hand letter my sons name on the place card.

All DONE! This little spring craft can keep any extra kiddos busy and you can decorate a spring themed dinner table when everyone is done!
