New 2017 Stencil: Sweetpeas with Karenliz

Hi Everyone!
Today let me introduce you to the new 2017 TCW Stencil called Sweetpeas. You can get both sizes in 12×12 and 6×6.
For my project I used 12×12 Sweetpeas stencil (TCW665), a 12×12 cradled wood board, TCW White Gesso, TCW Modeling Paste, Golden High Flow Acrylic (Shading Gray and Titanium White), palette knife, acrylic paints.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with stencils and mediums to create this project.

The opinions I share are solely my own because I do love to use them.

To start my project I applied white gesso on the wood board and when it dried I added modeling paste with a palette knife. I added it different places on the board. While the modeling paste was still wet I used the side of the palette knife and made marks and let it dry.

After it dried I started adding high flow acrylic in shading gray into the modeling paste and sprayed it with a little water and let it flow.

Here is a close up. It’s still wet.

When it all dried I added the stencil design with pencil and started painting.

I continued this way until I was finished with the stencil design.

To add more color I used die cut flowers I found out of my scrap box. They were cut from deli paper and the perfect colors.

I added a few hanging from the top.

Here is the finished piece.

Thanks so much for stopping.
I hope you enjoyed my project.

We would love to see what you create with The Crafters Workshop Stencils and Mediums.
You can share it with us on our Facebook page, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest using hashtag #tcwstencillove.

  1. Very pretty! I plan on doing something like this on mixed media paper ( live in an apartment and don’t have access to wood pieces). Thank you for your inspiration.

  2. Absolutely gorgeous! I just ordered this stencil–can’t wait to get it! Thanks too for sharing your process.
