xoxo canvas

Happy hump day everyone! This is Rachel Kleinman and I’m here to share a cute mini canvas that is perfect for Valentine’s Day!

Just like my Blizzard Canvas I share a couple weeks ago, this canvas is also a previous reject. It had some old collage papers already on it so I started with a healthy coat of gesso. Gesso makes everything better 🙂 Then with a thick modeling paste I used the TCW “Believe Script” stencil (some links in this post are affiliate links). Once that dried I painted the whole thing red and pink.

The gold is my favorite part of this canvas. I placed the TCW “Parasol” stencil on top of the canvas and inked it up with a Versamark (emboss) ink pad. Then I poured gold embossing powder on top and melted it with my heat gun. I will DEFINITELY be using this technique on future projects!

Finally I stenciled two hearts in the corner with modeling paste from TCW “Complicated Hearts“. I then painted them lightly with some teal paint left over from my ‘xoxo’ letters.

I’m glad you stopped in today. Are you making your gifts for Valentine’s Day this year?
