Using stencils in your planner

I am trying out a paper planner this year in an effort to stay more organized! I choose a plain one so that I could add my own touches of art and color. I thought it might be fun to show you how I used The Crafter’s Workshop stencils to decorate some of the pages in anticipation of adding my events and to-do lists in the upcoming month.

The Crafter’s Workshop provided me with some product to create this project. This post also contains affiliate links. The opinions I share are solely my own.

There are two holidays in March this year and wouldn’t you know it, I had a stencil for each one! The Easter Egg and Happy Clover fragments were perfect. I added color to both stencils with tiny stamp pads and then doodled around the design for more dimension. The Kitties, Fly Away and Word Association stencils also came in handy to add some fun to the calendar.

A strip of Washi tape created a division between the sections.

I added in a large feather from the Fly Away stencil using a combination of watercolor and Inktense pencils, followed by a bit of doodling with a Sharpie.

For this page, I used the Hex Flowers stencils, acrylic paint, a touch of watercolor and of course, doodling. I added the word Create from Word Association to the weekend since that seems to be the best time for me to play with art!

I used elements from both the Moroccan Sun and Impressions stencils to pop out the sections for each day and to highlight the action items for the week.

I hope this has given you some ideas of how to incorporate stencils into your planner. Just a touch of color here and there will brighten up the pages and make them more fun to work with!

Thanks for joining me today!
