{That Smile} Scrapbook Page

Hello! Tami Sanders here with a scrapbook page to share with you.

It is SO hard for me to get a photo with a NATURAL smile of either of my two boys – I’m SURE none of YOU have that problem – right? So, when I was lucky enough to catch a sweet smile on the face of my youngest, I wanted to show it off on a scrapbook layout…

Stencils from The Crafter’s Workshop are a great way to create a unique scrapbook page to showcase YOUR fabulous photos.

I used several stencils to create the background canvas: NEW! TCW486 LabyrinthNEW! TCW551 ChlorophyllNEW! TCW538 Tribal Triangles and TCW475 Diamond Lattice.

I used gel medium to add the Labyrinth Stencil design to the blank, white page. The gel medium acts as a resist when other inks and paints are added, so the design will show through. A resist is a great “first layer” when creating a background for your scrapbook page. Next, I added some color in the way of a dye ink spray and some gelatos – this created the washed aqua area on the page.

To bring out the greens in the photo, I used the Chlorophyl Stencil and some pigment inks to add the leaf designs at the left side of the layout.

The layout looked a little too “clean” for an outdoor photo, so I added some brown designs using the Tribal Triangles Stencil and gelatos to opposing corners.

I placed my photo on the page, and the drew in elements from the Diamond Lattice Stencil and a fine point brown marker.

An inked chipboard circle, chipboard and canvas letters, washi tape and some baker’s twine, were used at the bottom right of the photo to add some dimensional touches.

I’ve put together a Snapguide that shows how I made this layout step-by-step. The guide includes both photos and written directions as well as a complete supply list. You can view it here: {That Smile} Scrapbook Page.
