Hello! Tami Sanders here today with a project using several of the new stencils to share with you.
The Crafter’s Workshop released a bunch of FAB NEW stencils at the winter CHA, you can view them all here: WINTER 2015 CHA RELEASE
I had a plain canvas purse that I wanted to embellish. I went through the new designs and found the new TCW2066 Eye Bits Stencil…
It reminded me of a graphic version of a “Moroccan”-style eye, so I went back through the stencils and pulled out stencils that I thought would work for a Moroccan theme…
TCW524s Tatting
TCW502 Impressions
TCW525s Screen Print
TCW541s Believe Script
TCW553 Stone Rings
TCW554 Butterfly Collage
I mixed and layered the stencils inking the designs with ColorBox Crafter’s Inks. I used Spun Sugar Smooch Spritz to add some “distress” to the project. Then I heat set the designs to set the inks.
The eye design was added to the center, filled in with the Crafter’s Inks, then Izink for some shimmer and finally outlined using a fine tip brown sharpie.
Some natural cotton fringe was tinted using ColorBox Archival Dye Ink Sprays. The fringe was then glued along the bottom of the purse and a row of vintage sequin trim added for a little more bling. As a finishing touch, a few scraps taken from “junque” vintage jewelry were attached to the zipper pull
Here is the finished bag…
I’ve put together a Snapguide that shows how you can make this Moroccan-Inspired Canvas Purse yourself. The guide includes both photos and written directions as well as a complete supply list. You can view it here: MOROCCAN INSPIRED CANVAS BAG
