Two ways to add subtle interest on your patterned paper

I reach for The Crafter’s Workshop stencils when I want to add subtle interest to my patterned paper. Can you spot them on my card?

The Blue Fern Studios patterned paper was really pretty so I didn’t want to cover the blooms up. So I used The Crafter’s Workshop Quatrefoil TCW381 stencil with watered down gesso. The water thins down the effect of the gesso so you can a dreamy ethereal effect that works really well with shabby chic patterned papers.

Another subtle way to add interest to your patterned paper is to use Golden Glass Bead Gel. It dries clear with the sparkly effect of glass beads. I applied it with the swirls from The Crafter’s Workshop TCW489 Bee On Time stencil.

Hope you can give these 2 ways a try to create subtle interest on your patterned papers.

This is my last post for 2014 so here’s wishing you happy holidays! See you in 2015! 🙂
