Hi there, Sanna here again with an easy Christmas card background idea. All you need is two pieces of blue cardstock, a stencil and some white spray ink (of course you could use other colours too, if you prefer!).

Place the stencil onto the piece of cardstock and spray some white spray ink over it. This will create the first background pattern (the paper on the left). Then take the wet stencil and carefully place it over a second piece of blue cardstock and use a paper towel roll or a brayer to press the image onto the paper. Make sure the stencil and the paper do not move, otherwise you will not get a proper image. Then carefully lift the stencil from the paper. You now have a negative image of the stencil and a fun background pattern for your cards.

These are the two cards I created with the blue inked and stenciled paper. I also added some modeling pasted stencil images to create more interest and detail to the upper card. These modeling pasted pieces are leftovers from the “two of a kind” layout I did for the 1 Stencil 4 Ways post here.

For my last card I also used some modeling pasted leftover pieces and additionally pressed the leftover ink from a stencil onto the background. I had used the small “Beaded Curtain” stencil with some blue Distress Ink and now just sprayed the inked areas with some water spray and then pressed the leftover ink onto the background.

I still have plenty of that blue cardstock left, so I can go on and make some more Christmas cards later.
