Good morning!
I know many of you enjoy creating journal pages and it’s such a blessing to have the ability to join groups available online that encourage and support this endeavor and passion:)
In a few of the groups that I am apart of, it is often shared…”I’m not an artist, but I would love to create beautiful pages.”
There are so many tools out there to help anyone at any “level” create works of art…
STENCILS are just the tool!! They can be used in so many ways…today I share a few!
Below are The Crafter’s Workshop Stencils that I used.
My journaling today is in my Bible. As Design Team Member Lydell so beautifully shared here there are endless creative uses for stenciling in your journaling.
To prepare my page for the process, I put a very light coat of gesso (you can barely see it) in the margin. Doing this, will prevent any color or pen marks from bleeding through the page.
Next, I took a “drug store” make-up sponge and applied embossing ink over the stencils.
Using the same kind of sponge, I “brushed on” color with a Pan Pastel…
the images magically appear! (I love that part)
I added some journaling and details including some outlining using a faber-castell pitt pen (xs) and a uniball-signo pen in white.
If you don’t feel confident with your penmanship, you can type out your thoughts and print them on a separate piece of paper and tape or glue onto your page. Another option would be to cut out the words you want from old books or magazines.
Using images and personal lettering helps me to remember the important truths I discover as I study. Hope this post encourages you to find the freedom to let go and enjoy your quiet times even more using the great resources found at The Crafters Workshop!
Thank you for taking the time to stop by and read!

Love this idea because I am not an artist and want something that looks nice in my journals. Thanks for sharing
This looks beautiful Sue and I love the fact you decorate your Bible!
I just joined a facebook group of Bible journalers and this is the best thing I have seen on the subject. Thank you so much!
