Welcome to day 3 of our inspiration-filled, fun-filled festival during our team’s Creatastic Blog Hop.  Join us each day as we share amazing projects created by our Design Team members.   Susan K Weckesser’s Design Team will be sharing projects they create over on their site too.  Both teams will be using Susan K Weckesser Inc products as well as stencils by The Crafter’s Workshop.

Now, make sure you visit both blogs, because we are going to have some fun prize packages given away each day on both sites.  You need to leave comments each day for a chance to win!  We also encourage you to stop by and become a fan of Susan K Weckesser Facebook Page and The Crafter’s Workshop Facebook Page because that is where we will announce the winners.

Sue Carroll and Miae Rowe are sharing their creations today. Wait ‘till you see these!!

Fall tags/Sue Carroll

Hello & Happy October!!

I love Fall…cooler temperatures, vibrant earth tones, pumpkin spice lattes, warm soup and crusty bread…

Speaking of soup…I am a cook, and I enjoy making yummy one pot meals to share with friends and family…and this is definitely soup season!

We have a circle drive, and those who know me well, know that they can drive through for a hearty take home container of soup this time of year!!

To make a gift from your kitchen even more personal…add a handmade tag so the recipient knows it was especially made for them with love:)

…taking advantage of a Sunday afternoon (while my hubby is watching football) I like to create a “stock pile” of tags to have on hand to use for gifts, quick notes, and food tags.

Below is a sample of tags I created using a TCW Stencil designed by Susan K Weckesser as well as her way cool “washi tape” & Autumn Grunge stamps perfect for the fall.

I started this tag project by making some washi tape with plain masking tape!

I am LOVING Susan Weckesser’s fun stamps…they are SOOOO versatile!

I made several “sheets” of washi tape in a variety of colors to have on hand for several projects.

Using the Autumn Grunge stamp with embossing ink, I stamped several white tags.

Next, I took a Pan Pastel in brown, (using a “dime store” make-up sponge) and brushed the color over the stamped image.

I used the same process with the stencil., and outlined it with a fine tip                           Pitt multi-liner black pen.

To finish the tags, I added words cut out from a vintage book.

Thank so much for stopping by The Crafter’s Workshop Blog!!

Hi everyone, what an exciting week we have for you! Have you been enjoying the blog hop going on around here? If you haven’t heard yet, The Crafter’s Workshop and Susan K. Weckesser have been hanging out together this week for a fun blog hop full of inspiration and prizes! I certainly hope you’ll join in the fun!

Here’s my project combining both TCW and SKW goodies:

Miae Rowe_TCW_Live Full of Color (1)

It’s a canvas I plan to put up in my craft room!

I started with papers from SKW called Bouquet and Live in Color and TCW 220 Rain in 12×12.

I traced the smallest raindrops onto Bouquet (pink paper) and the larger raindrops onto Live in Color (green paper).

Take TCW 481s, some mist and spray over the traced raindrops.
Paint the larger raindrops with metallic watercolors.

Here’s what you should have.

Now take SKW Live Love Create paper and TCW 377s Circle Regiment and TCW 278 Circle Explosion and trace circles that will fit inside the large raindrops.

I painted a dot of metallic blue watercolor paint to all the circles, cut them out and glued them to the large rain drop. These become my peacock feathers. I also sketched out and painted the peacock body on watercolor paper and cut it out. Now assemble the body and all the feathers onto your canvas. At the last minute I dabbed iridescent glitter to all the green feathers to really make them shine. My final touch was to alter an SKW Live in Color Tag and use as my inspiration quote. Here’s some close ups:
