Creating art that has personal meaning

Hello there! It’s Yvonne here to share my creative inspiration. I’ve always been a collector of “things”. Now, my family thinks I’m over-sentimental and collect EVERYTHING but I’m really selective about things I collect. They must hold some personal meaning for me. 🙂

And now that I’ve started creating mixed media canvases, I can create art that has personal meaning. Like this brown bow from an old hairclip from my schooldays. And the Dior charm from the first travel makeup kit I had.

I started my canvas with a vintage patterned paper and some walnut ink. After that, I applied Liquitex resin sand medium with The Crafter’s Workshop TCW475 Diamond Lattice. Then I painted with Silks Acrylic Glazes, added the lace, bow and charm. What about you? Do you incorporate items that have personal meaning on your art pieces?
