Hi Karenliz here.
Do you have one holiday or event each year that your creativity, mojo is out of control? Well, my holiday is Halloween. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because my daughter was born on Halloween. I can create Halloween/Spooky themed projects all year.
The great thing about stencils are they give me many options for backgrounds, textures and focal images. I can also use the stencils to match designs on embellishments to give the project a cohesive look as I did with this canvas.
For this canvas I used the 6×6 Bee on Time stencil (TCW489) for my background. I painted the canvas in different shades browns and used the stencil to add my background design around the edge (acrylic paint and modeling paste).
Once it was dry I added all the embellishments to complete the canvas. As I said before I use stencils to match up designs in embellishments. See if you can see the matching embellishment design.
Do you see it? If you don’t see it, it’s the swirls on the frame. So next time you take out your stencils and embellishments, try to match up the designs.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
