Autumn Card with Canvas and Burlap

Hi!

Tami Sanders here with a autumn themed card to show you The card features a canvas leaf and a burlap strip for some texture….

The canvas leaf was done using TCW2048 Maple Leaf Frags

The stencil was taped down to a piece of canvas, then spritzed with ColorBox Archival Dye Inks in Pumpkin Pie, Lemon Drop, Putty and Mudslide. After the canvas dried, the leaf was cut out and lightly brushed with Antique Gold Tattered Angels High Impact Mixed Media Paint.

For the base of the card,  I started with plain white heavy-weight cardstock; Core’dinations 110lb works great. I used the Antique Gold High Impact Paint again to add a background design with TCW202 Harlequin stencil…

After the paint dried, I spritzed the background using the same ColorBox Spritzer colors as I used on the canvas leaf.

When both the leaf and the background were dry, the edges were lightly distressed using Chestnut Roan ColorBox Chalk Ink.

Then it was time to build the card, the background piece was mounted on the card front, the burlap strip was adhered, then the canvas leaf was added. A jute bow on the stem of the leaf finished off the card.

Burlap and Canvas are from 7 Gypsies: Canvas Corp.

Here are some close-ups of the card; the shimmer and glimmer from the Tattered Angels High Impact Paint is REALLY pretty! The paint also adds some texture to the background…
