Fun With Chalk Core and Urban Street Art

Hello all and happy Friday!

I got a chance to play with Core’dinations White Chalk Core cardstock and I had heaps of fun using my stencils on it. I must admit, this page didn’t turn out at all the way I planned (including a change of photo), but that’s how projects sometimes go don’t they?

I began with Core’dinations Chalk Core, which you can sand or emboss to expose a white center! I wrote a quote in white pen and white pastel pencil.

If you read the quote you'll see it's about sisters because that's what this page was originally going to be about!

Next, I used the Sand It Gadget from Core’dinations to expose some of the white core and give it a more worn look.

After that I played with TCW478s Beaded Curtain using embossing powder and mist, again all in white.

Then I took another sheet of Chalk Core cardstock, TCW470 Geometric Art Layers, and applied metallic acrylic paints with sponges.

Finally, I cut them up into strips to use as layers on my page. It’s a simple yet great way to make your own patterned paper!

After that I built my layers, including molding paste and TCW492s Kasias Letters and splattered paint. The background became decidedly more grungy so I decided to change pictures 😉 I’d just returned from a trip to Melbourne, Australia where I’d taken photos of some alleys filled with amazing urban street art so I choose something from those pics. Here’s some close ups:

And that’s having fun with Chalk Core!
