An Art Journal Page with Zen Flower Stencil

Hi. It’s Karenliz. Today I have an art journal page to show you where I used lots of stencils and Pan Pastels.

To create the page I used the following:
TCW419 Mini Halftone Borders
TCW320 Mini Chevron Arrows
TCW330 Numbers
TCW228 Mini Herringbone
TCW466 Zen Flower
Pan Pastels
Krylon Workable Fixatif

I added the first four stencils from the list above to create the background with Pan Pastels. Because I was adding lots of stencils I used Workable Fixatif in between layers so nothing would smudge.

Next, I covered the entire page with black Pan Pastel. I did not spray on the Workable Fixatif because I wanted to be able to apply my next step.

I placed the Zen Flower stencil on top and erased the black Pan Pastel so I can see the background.

Remember when I said to use the Fixatif in between the layers of the background?  Well I forgot to spray a couple of layers and when I started to erase I did removed some of the background.  Once I was done I used a white pen and outlined the flower.

The more you erase the more you see. Just remember the Workable Fixatif!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. Wow wow! Thanks for sharing this! I really love the look and I’m not that familiar with PP so this is a great teaching point!
