Watercolor with Resist Effects – A Layout

Hello there! It’s Miae here with my very first post as a TCW DT member. I very much love using TCW stencils because I really enjoy making my own backgrounds on my layouts. Here’s a page I made using a resist technique with watercolors and embossing powders.

I used Cursive Alphabet TCW271 and applied embossing ink and embossing powder over the 12 x 12 page.

After melting and drying the embossing powder with my heating tool, I stamped and painted over the page. You can see how the areas with the embossing powder “resists” the wet paint.

Next, to give my page some pop, I mixed up some molding paste and black acrylic paint and used the Well Rounded TCW384s stencil everywhere. I love using circles in my projects so the distressed, grungy circles on this stencil were just perfect!

I hope you found some TCW inspiration in this layout!

Cheers,
